Conference Call Board Meeting

Meeting started at 7:06 PM
 
Meeting minutes read from the last board meeting on October 5, 2006. Ben Willis made a motion to accepts as read, Archie Steele seconded the motion, all voted in favor.
 
Tony Stoltz said that Craig Eller, Vice President, mailed out all of the ballots to the clubs, past and present.
 
Conservation report was not given as Conservation Director was not on call. Tony Stoltz said that proposal was submitted to TBF for New Melones project.
 
Youth report was not given as Sal Gervasi not on call. Tony Stoltz said that 19 states had voted in favor of some type of casting program for the kids.
 
Archie Steele: Tournament Report
·         Tournaments are running well so far. No issues to date for this year
·         Best number to reach Archie is his cell 209-598-4079
·         Change the TOC in 2008 to Friday/Saturday event
·         BBAC needs dates for release boat for 2007. All tournament directors to get those dates to Archie
·         Will look into possibly changing Don Pedro 2007 date
 
Kelly Willis: Treasurer Report:
·         ISE show needs us to provide something for all the kids. Suggested balloons with our logo. Larry Wilson made a motion for the balloons, Ray Leyerly seconded the motion, all were in favor. Brian Carpenter to check on if we could have helium tanks at the show before the balloons would be ordered. Brian Day to work on getting a single color logo to Kelly for if and when balloons would be ordered.
·         Banners, $1600.00, were completed and in the mail to all the tournament directors. It is extremely important that it is at all regional tournaments and in all the pictures at these tournaments for our sponsorship obligations.
·         Tournament Directors to email Archie a list, inventory, or all the Federation items that they have. Example, scale, tub, tables, banners, weigh bags, etc. This is to let his know what is needed and what is not as well as an inventory for our records.
·         Need to get with Tony Stoltz to open up a new checking account at Wells Fargo.
 
Delta Region:
Brian Carpenter, Regional Director
·         ISE show update
·         Will check on if we can have helium tanks in our booth for balloons.
·         Needs to be an activity for the kids and not a competition. Needs to be just a fun event. We will have a casting booth to teach kids how to cast. We will also provide volunteers for the “fish pond” where kids can catch real fish.
·         will send out a schedule for the volunteers on when and who if working which shifts on which days in the booth and fish pond.
·         Will look into getting literature from FLW and our sponsors to hand out.
·         We will have a daily drawing for adults over 16 to win a free boater and non-boater entry to fish one of the federation tournaments.
 
Shasta Region:
Tony Thomasy asked where to get more detailed information that he can take to the clubs. Brian Day advised him where to look on our website as it should all be there.
 
Central Cal Region:
Scott Sweet , Regional Direcotr
·         Visited a few clubs, new and old, and said that we should be getting some of them back from the past.
·         Brought up getting possible representation at the Fred Hall Show.
·         Brought up the federation possibly helping to get structure for Castaic.
 
No tournament director for this region as Mike Moffitt resigned. Scott Sweet made a motion for Ray Leyerly to be R7 tournament director, Archie Steele seconded the motion, all were in favor.
