Board Of Directors Meeting

November, 5, 2004

Call to order at 5:00 PM

Roll call

Those in attendance: Gary Bradford, Craig Eller, Kelly Steele, Sal Gervasi, Archie Steele, Brian Day, Ben Willis, Tony Thomasy, Larry Wilson, Allen Wetter, Scott Harvey, Paul Owen, Bob Monsen and Bruce Carpenter.

1. Minutes of previous meeting were read and accepted with no changes.
2. Treasures report: The balance as of October 25th, 2004 is 19,770.00
a. Estimated expenses for the State Classic is 4,300.00
b. Total expenses for Divisional are 13,293.00.
c. Deposit Information: Please make sure tournament deposits are for tournamet monies only do not include patch sales etc. on the tournament deposits.
3. Prizes: Gary read a list of prizes for the State Championship raffel.
4. Conservation report:
a. Delta stamp committee has been chosen and no one from the CBCF were selected to be on the committee.
b. Conservation Programs: If any club has a conservation project in mind there are monies available from B.A.S.S..
c. The Department of Fish and Game, is beginning to attend our weigh-ins and possible fines may be issued for mishandeling of fish. Please follow the weigh-in booklet from B.A.S.S. as this will assure proper handeling of fish.
d. New decal available from B.A.S.S. for Federation Conservation.
e. Teddy Roosevelt Conservation Program works to guarentee Americans a place to hunt and fish. CBCF should join. There was a motion on the floor to join and the motion was carried and Bob will take care of the paperwork.
5. Youth Report:
a. Junior Bassmasters State finals were held at Lake Cachuma on October
23rd, where we qualilfied two kids to compete at the Junior Bassmasters Classic in Pittsburgh, Pn. in August of 2005.
b. Casting Kids State finals will be held on February 13th in Bakersfield at
the Sportsman Show.
6. Web Page:
a. Email addresses: Please forward all email addresses from tournament
entry forms to Brian.
b. Directors tool kit: Brian has put together a template of sorts for tournament directors including anglers bios, articles, standings, results and stationary for writing letters.
7. Sean Allred, won the first Junior Bassmasters World Championship.
8. Sponsor Report: All Star rods out, Lucky Craft out and All Pro rods coming on board. Everthing else is the same.

NEW BUSINESS

1. Possible tounrment format changes for 2006. We are currently running thirty-five to fourty tournaments per year. We want to try to reduce this number so therefore we need to have all of you to please submit suggestions to the board.
2. Rules and bylaws changes for 2005: Please get alhold of Archie and let him know your suggestions for rules changes.
a. There will no longer be any re-draws.
3. The federation is giving tournament entry certificates for qualifying fund raisers.
4. 2005 Tournament Schedule:
a. 2005 State Classic will be held at new Malones the last weekend in October. The Federation will receive 1,500.00 from the chamber to host our event there.
b. State Classic rotation: We will consider holding our State Classic whereever sponsorship money is available.
5. Motion to make angler of the year tournament fees paid entries instead of free entries, were voted on and accepted.
6. Communication: Let’s all do a better job communicating with other board members whether it be by phone or email etc.
7. Phone List: Craig Eller – Vice President will be in charge of updating the phone list.
8. Trophies: We are currently searching for a new company to handle our awards.
9. Ranger Cup: Ranger Cup money will double if the Federation increases its membership to 1,500.00 we are now at 1,200.00.
10. Bruce Carpenter is giving up his position as tournament director. Ben Willis will replace him. Allen Wetter will take over Regional Director in Southern California.

With there being no further business, meeting is adjourned.
